Belgium’s top football league being investigated for corruption, match-fixing

Belgium’s top football league has been
rocked with a corruption scandal with top clubs and officials accused of
fraudulent transfers and match-fixing the Belgian police launched dozens of
raids over the past two days searching the offices of nine clubs as well as a
number of houses in Belgium and across Europe four were charged with belonging
to a criminal organization and corruption while a fifth person was
charged with money laundering according to the public prosecutor’s office the
investigation has been ongoing since late last year
Belgium’s football governing body said it accepts the probe has to take place
but declined to comment further
