Football Manager 2013 Video Blogs: Match Day (English version)

September 10, 2019

With every new game in the Football Manager series we always strive to create a more dynamic and immersive match day experience and with FM13 we believe we have gone one step further in our aim to achieve this If you’re the type of manager that likes to be kept up to date with goings on both in the game you’re playing and with what’s going on throughout your league, you’ll be very happy with what we’ve added: During each match on FM13 managers will see a live feed of instructions and suggestions from their coaching staff and that’s not just feedback from them about how your team are doing, but also the latest goal updates from their league as well as any league table position changes your side go through in 90 minutes, all of it on one panel. This will allow managers to keep watching the game, whilst making any tactical changes based on what’s happening in games involving your league rivals In fact, that pop-up panel can be customised to display up to 14 different information options, which allows managers to see what’s going on in the game and alter their tactics accordingly – far more quickly and in a better way than before. The process of making a substitution has also been streamlined. During a match you’ll now see a ‘Make Substitutions’ button in the top left of the screen this allows managers to make in-game substitutions quicker and easier than before… simply by dragging and dropping the player in question. Managers can then either confirm the substitution and get straight back to the action, or can give the incoming player final instructions before sending him onto the pitch. Despite the fact that managers can now access much more information during a match, we’ve still managed to make the matchday screen less cluttered than previously. In FM13 the action bar and match info bars are both now animated to slide off screen and reappear when you move your mouse towards them this isn’t just easier to use, it also makes the matches look better and means you can see more on the screen. You can also easily set camera angles inside the match including choosing the new rail cam or zoom in or out of the action. You can also decide what amount of highlights to watch using the new highlight mode and you can set different speeds for the match action and text commentary outside of highlights. So there are a few of the changes we’ve made to the matchday experience on Football Manager 2013. As playing matches is arguably the most important part of the game, we’re pleased to have made changes to make that experience better than ever before.

    How about no.

Just put videos out and if your content and quality is good enough it will get noticed. Spamming videos won't get you viewers, if anything put them off

  • Reply Michael Howell September 11, 2012 at 2:25 pm

This game is going to be mint!

  • Reply SvartMagic September 11, 2012 at 2:30 pm

Is it so hard to realize that its a joke? If you make a sub in the 60th minute, you gonna be REALLY REALLY slow if you end it in the 89th minute. The new sub button is so irrelevant…

  • Reply K Gubbas September 11, 2012 at 2:40 pm

Its sad that FM still looks like crap. The Fifa football game from 2003 still looks better than FM 2013, thats just outragous to call FM 2013 good in graphics, cause it still sucks. Sure, the database is the greatest ever to be created. But come on, what the game lacks in is graphics and making the game look real.
I also wish there where a way to construct the arenas in the editor, to make em look like they do in reality. And why not create more visuals, without making the game look like sims.

  • Reply caljam98 September 11, 2012 at 2:44 pm

It isnt all about the match graphics you fuck tard-.-

  • Reply nufcmiles September 11, 2012 at 2:44 pm

    Thank you

  • Reply snakeplissken111 September 11, 2012 at 3:09 pm

FIFA 2003 looking better than this? Cut back on the hyperbole and google for screenshots. Still, FM's 3D tech isn't up to date, yes. But what is at least equally important is how the simulation and the database match each other. Eye candy only takes you this far alone: In FM you get to see lower league players covering less ground on average, Robben cutting inside frequently, aggressive players actually getting more bookings on average, etc. FIFA doesn't do this

  • Reply Fou-Lunx Ornitier September 11, 2012 at 3:23 pm

why makes it's more eyegasm when people plays on 2D view in the end…

  • Reply John Doe September 11, 2012 at 3:48 pm

    AFC Wimbledon are shit

  • Reply Matthew Edgeworth September 11, 2012 at 3:50 pm

It's a fucking manager game, the amount of the depth in the game is incredible and considering that the graphics look pretty damn good. If you play FM fto watch the graphics then I'm afraid you're a bit fucking strange.

  • Reply LingLingTheUltimate September 11, 2012 at 4:11 pm

    Gameplay > Graphics.

  • Reply Bumbuliuz September 11, 2012 at 4:51 pm

Looks great, can't wait to play it 🙂

  • Reply Ray Slavenburg September 11, 2012 at 4:59 pm

it's a fucking managing simulator. if you do it right, you spend 90% of your time playing with numbers (unlike fifa manager). to create an astonishing 3d engine + accompanying textures etc would be a waste of time and money better spent on coding realistic transfer systems and budgeting. FM is a game for the core fans and core fans don't give a shit about Hi res graphics. I bet half of them even play 2d matches.

but yeah… I agree on the stadium part, sorta.

  • Reply nufcalways1 September 11, 2012 at 5:06 pm

Fifa is for the actual playing game, Fm is for managing the team and controlling finances etc. Obviously you do not get this. Fuck off. Fuck off now.

  • Reply darkpyschoZ September 11, 2012 at 6:17 pm

hahahaha, i know when the first time i played fm, "the graphics looks shits!" but after a while. i got hook and can't stop played since then LOL! 🙂

  • Reply Drew Griffiths September 11, 2012 at 7:57 pm

You can't have the best of both worlds, man. If you want graphics, you have to compromise elsewhere. FM is all about its depth, so its compromise is the visuals.

  • Reply Drew Griffiths September 11, 2012 at 7:59 pm

    Maybe because of sponsorship reasons?

  • Reply Drew Griffiths September 11, 2012 at 8:37 pm

Im just saying, the club have a sponsorship deal with the game makers and sponsorship is a business. What are you?. 15? hahaha. Cheap insult little kid!. Keep yappin'.

  • Reply Drew Griffiths September 11, 2012 at 9:06 pm

You're the one acting like a 5 year old dishing out cheap insults and going off on one when I simply gave a SUGGESTION as to why he was wearing an AFC Wimbledon shirt (ie he might have been TOLD to). Have a look whats on it, it could be part of a sponsorship deal and that means he HAS to do it. Im not defending him, you asked why he was wearing it, I gave a reasonable suggestion and you felt it was appropriate to go off on one with insults. Grow up, lad!. PS Its spelt "mature".

  • Reply Drew Griffiths September 11, 2012 at 10:55 pm

Im an ex footie player, now coach, 33, coached footie in Brazil and the USA, lived in both countries, got offered to coach in Romario's footie school, but opted to go to West Brom instead, even had the pleasure of meeting Sir Bobby Charlton and the countless players (even my dad was a professional footie player who knew Sir Bobby). So trust me when I say that out of all those things you think I should do, I already do ;). Matter closed.

i don't care about graphics when it's the most realistic game…If you want graphics go play fifa manager and win everything with a 4rth division team…If you want to play something realistic, fm13 is the best

  • Reply Barkermush September 12, 2012 at 12:15 am

Only 5 subs on the bench?
Football League teams are now allowed 7 subs on the bench again..

I guess it is only work in progress.

  • Reply MENWHENWILLYOULEARN September 12, 2012 at 2:46 am

I really wish that SI could improve 3d animations… Players still look like they are ice skating on the pitch + there are no dribble moves.

  • Reply Barkermush September 12, 2012 at 6:09 am

    I see. 🙂

League 2 teams are allowed 7 subs in real life this season, and Wimbledon are a League 2 team.

  • Reply gaby gabby September 12, 2012 at 12:25 pm

Depends in what league do you play

  • Reply Muskeljens September 12, 2012 at 2:22 pm

There are no words to express how wrong it is for you to play FM if what you really want is just graphics and useless arena making. Go play FIFA Manager or FIFA for that matter. This is a managerial game, not a "build your own stadium" game.

  • Reply levin September 12, 2012 at 2:23 pm

why does the in-league footage lag?

Better Than The Fifa Manager Games and EA's Total Club Manager, I recall LMA Manager not being great in graphics but its not all about graphics gameplay and i know Sigames have sorted out the loan system

people did you know a certain fact about this game or at least the 2012 version:)

If you save the game then play a match and say you lost 4-0…regardless of what you do if you reload and replay the same match regardless of your tactics the result will be the in this case 4-0……So what exactley are you REALLY in control of???…if you don't believe me go ahead and try it 🙂
