Golf Twitch Trainer Review – Can I Get More Club Head Speed?

February 26, 2020

all right today is all about speed once
again let’s go alright thanks for watching
appreciate it today we’re I got the twitch trainer in my hand now you saw me
use this at the PGA show a while back and I was with Ryan Steinberg the man
behind this thing and I’ll show you some clips of that anyway I picked up like 15
yards right after using this thing the only thing though I was hitting his
driver which was like I don’t know twice as long as my driver and ten times his
deaf it was three degrees of loft and my spin rate was like 650 it’s ridiculous
anyway still got 15 more yards after he put me on this thing so as always there
is a link in the description below for this $10 off use promo code mister
schorr came all the info is below hope you like this video we’re gonna put it
to the test if you haven’t subscribe to the channel please do so and hit the
bell so you don’t miss anything now uh let’s jump on things okay I’ve gone through my warmup like I
did with you know all the other swing things I do same arm so did that got to
107 swing speed with my driver I need to show you all that but that’s what it was
so we’re right where we want it we normally are and so I was bombing it
right down the center of the fairway so now I’m gonna go through this be sure to
check out the website there’s a ton of video instructions on ways to utilize
this here’s what I love about the twist trainer so far one is this handle comes
off okay put the longest screw in here but it comes on and off what I like to
do is I pack this in my gym bag go to the gym and days when I’m working on
swing speed just pull this puppy out I usually leave it’s good it takes forever
screws anyways you get the idea alright that’s cool got this nice thick rope and
then you’ve got this guy is canvas like God it’s almost reminds
me of one of those fans you used to use years ago I had one of those it was like
a a club but it was like a fan a white fan and you swing that thing it would
break and I couldn’t really transport it in your bag this throwing a golf bag
wrap it up you’re good to go anywhere you want
great I think it’s like 100 bucks not bad
discount link in the description below so be sure to check that out like I said
I’m gonna do three of the exercises that Ryan does in his videos right now okay
I’m gonna use the fan and I’m just gonna do normal swings right-handed
left-handed do ten of each then I’m going to do this squat squat swing thing
that he does which I like and then I’m going to roll it up and do kind of the
over swinging style workout getting a good solid fast release with a step
swing right-handed left-handed they want to go back hitting my driver and see if
we pick up swing speed right out of the gate see that so that’s cool and there’s
Ryan has tons and tons of different ways you could work out with this thing it’s
really cool stretches and love how that is put together on their website easy to
use and you could even just watch those and get a feel for what’s going on see
if you like it before you make the pull the trigger
but for hundreds it’s pretty good I like it cuz it’s lightweight rolling your bag
keep it with you all the time warm up at the course do all that good stuff here
we go one of the things I love about this
trainer as opposed to others on the market is that because of the rope and
the thing it forces you to have good technique so not only are you working on
swing but you’re gonna heart rate you’re
working on your technique as well because we get too quick that won’t you
know you want it to kind of rest and then swing so you’re getting a good
pause getting everything synced up it’s one of the few swing speed trainers
where you get that included with the additional swing speed second workout really helps you there’s a ton of
different exercises but the air a few really help you use those ground forces
like never before alright now third one I’m gonna do get
the Bell crow strapped right okay boom go from the other end all that puppy up boom good tight take you very so now you
can really whip this I’m gonna do the step swing right hand left hand with it
sometimes you got to just make sure it’s tight it kind of comes loose sometimes
do and really doing the lefty swings it kind of kicks loose oh really
just always make sure connected maybe that’s why the screw so long so don’t
fly off okay I was just a quick little workout I’ve got the SC 300 set up so
it’s the same thing I’m using for everything let’s see what we got twitch
trainer what’s your guess is comment below am I gonna pick up any club head
speed first try using this thing you know first try on my own used it at the
PGA Show but really how was that 107 okay that was my mark well not that much
is good before this I’m a little nervous not gonna lie there’s a horrible swing it’s okay
105 good start usually it takes a few swings to kind of get things resync top
that’s not a clop UI here we go okay that one was 106 and the 270s who carry
my 107 earlier I got 271 carry and this wasn’t me
it’s good shot so my body feels pretty pretty much in sync that’s 107 I’m right where I was okay I
can take three swings with that and then see if I can just jump on like a 110 112 okay
well that was 109 right down the middle a little draw that thing went a couple
more Wow I healed that one a little it was a
little cutter 110 I’ve been there a little bit of time I’m just trying to swing smooth fairway
finder 106 loving that do another one give me my my assessment that was a good
one 107 smooth 280 carry nice that’s kind of
a that’s a big deal big deal okay twitch trainer what do you think I’m
gonna pick up what I get to 110 that’s pretty good good news for me
this pros and cons okay pros easy it’s like it’s easy to take around with you
you could pack it in your gym bag take it to the gym get your workout and with
this and slowly over time build your strength your speed all that your rhythm
timing Pro it syncs up helps you sync everything up so I like that there’s
other training aids similar to this for rhythm and timing but they don’t
increase your club head speed this does both love that
I like the grip oversized kind of grip so you get good control of everything
that’s fantastic I love the fact that this screws on and off con this kind of
unscrews a little bit sometimes while you’re using it
it’s not that big of a con but I had to come up with something it’s a hundred
bucks little expense we get $10 off click the link in the description below
so that’s a good deal twitch trainer let me know what you think comment below
hope it hope this helps we’re on a mission to increase club head speed you
saw some success story I think over time I want to get to like 115 so I think
over time this will add miles and miles miles first time it’s got a couple up
till 110 so three that’s ten yards at least my four I’ll take it anyway love
you guys in the next video

It’s a rag attached to the end of a rope. 100.00$. I’m out

Looks like this might be most beneficial for high to mid handicappers where timing and swing speed are two of the big issues to overcome. For low hc's, the swing speed and control is probably already in a pretty good place.

    looks like a gimmick

  • Reply James Lewis February 24, 2020 at 2:38 pm

Some of your higher speed you got less ball carry ? Not much more carry at higher speed

  • Reply Charly Olenych February 24, 2020 at 2:46 pm

Looks like a waste of money

Hilarious. Entertaining. This is a great go-to golf info/training site. Ever think about show biz? Stand up? You would be a natural.

Thanks for the great video on this product. I think I get what it’s all about now.

    It’s an interesting one!

I was Actually going to guess that you’d swing slower after doing the protocol because it looked tiring.

    Shows what I know!

Looks like Mr Short Game is becoming Mr Gadget like the folks on golf channel. Love your channel but don't like all the gimmicks people try to pass off on golfers.

  • Reply poe's ReLiC February 24, 2020 at 3:53 pm

Dont buy this piece of shit device. Spend your money on a golf lesson instead of a rag on a rope.

  • Reply ANTHONY BENNETT February 24, 2020 at 4:14 pm

on this video and your last training aid video you looked tired after using the aids if you do that much exercise before a round of golf surely on the course tiredness produces tired and bad shots not all people are as fit as you are

  • Reply Jeremiah Murphy February 24, 2020 at 4:53 pm

Twitch trainer impact is short-lived and not a real increase in your swing speed. You would need to use this on every hole to see any meaningful results in your round.

  • Reply Clive Rose February 24, 2020 at 5:28 pm

Love your channel but not impressed with this.

  • Reply Brad Johnson February 24, 2020 at 5:29 pm

Awesome product review follow up Matt. This was one of the more interesting training aids at the PGA show this year.

  • Reply GST1974 February 24, 2020 at 5:48 pm

At first it looked silly to me, but after giving it some thought it does make sense. The cloth attached at the end of the rope adds resistance which I assume builds muscle tone and the flexibility of the rope improves swing rhythm. Still $100 for something that simple seems over-priced, unless the materials used are expensive. The best trainer ever made is the medicus in my opinion because it forces you to rotate and stay connected in order to keep the club on plane.

Waste of £100 IMO.. looked like it just tired you out..no significant improvement.. maybe over time you may consistently gain a couple of mph but I’m guessing your dispersion will worsen.. good vid tho👍

The fast motion clips are hilarious but exhausting to watch! I have a Twitch trainer and it has helped strengthen my neck and shoulders. My PT was impressed with my progress with this tool added to my regular exercises. It’s fun, too

Honestly just buy a straw broom from the hardware shop for like $10 and cut the handle down so it’s the same length as your driver and swing that to build club head speed. When my coach first said it I was thinking it was a bit weird but picked up 10mph club head speed and swing on average between 118-120 mph and up to 124mph really going after one. Now I just have to find the centre of the club face 😂

there should be a difference between reviewing a product and trying to sell it.

  • Reply Mikey Jarrell February 25, 2020 at 6:02 pm

Great video! Cool gizmo. Looks like you'd pick up even more speed over time if you use it in the gym regularly.

  • Reply a2fitness February 25, 2020 at 11:03 pm

110 mph on a major slicer. ill take 105 on the sweet spot. everyone is swinging out of their shoes trying to get faster.

  • Reply Scott Manthey February 26, 2020 at 3:17 am

Good one as always. I have the speed sticks which you reviewed last week and I like them but… They are a pain to haul around and use. This looks like it accomplishes the same thing at half the price and 1/4 the size.

I found it interesting that your speed didn't really increase much but your efficiency did. Your same 107mph picked up 10+ yards, I wonder why that would be?

  • Reply Arnold Fernandez February 26, 2020 at 6:48 am

If you want to continue to grow your channel, You should stick to your so called Lessons and Tips. Its obvious by these BS videos that You'll do anything for $$$. Stop pushing this Garbage on your viewers.

  • Reply Thomas Fraser February 26, 2020 at 2:52 pm

Of course it works as long as you have the proper set up to the ball and you rock your pelvis and shoulders all together for one second back; and then, one second forward as you allow both sides of your body to push and pull altogether. On the downswing just push harder with you right trail side and your left side will equally pull as hard. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Having said this; works much better with a club in your hands.

Do you really need more speed with less accuracy as you just demonstrated? Cheers

  • Reply Ryan McCaig February 26, 2020 at 3:33 pm

Sorry but that is just an Overpriced pile of garbage. Tie towel to a rope for free. Same thing. Look ridiculous either way. Mess up your swing with crap results just like that hunk of junk.
