MIKE ROTOLO READY TO GO IN THE ATLANTIC HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AS RIT FACED TOP SEEDED ROBERT MORRIS AT THE BLUE CROSS ARENA. 1ST PERIOD JUST 1:23 INTO THE GAME AND THE COLONIALS GET ON THE BOARD FIRST AS GREG GIBSON SCORES UNASSISTED TO PUT ROBERT MORRIS UP 1-NOTHING. BUT IT WOULD NOT LAST . TIED AT 1 LATER IN THE PERIOD, THE TIGERS ON THE POWER PLAY AND GREG AMLONG SCORES TO PUT RIT IN FRONT 2-1. IT WAS 2-2 WHEN RIT STRUCK AGAIN. LIAM KERINS NETS HIS 2ND OF THE NIGHT. RIT HAD A 3-2 LEAD AFTER THE FIRST PERIOD. 2ND PERIOD MYLES POWELL GETS INVOLVED WITH THE FEED TO DANNY SMITH WHO SKATES IN ALL ALONE AND BEATS TERRY SHAFER FOR THE GOAL. RIT LED 4-2. WHAT A WEEKEND FOR SOPHOMORE MYLES POWELL. HE SCORED THE GAME WINNER AGAINST AIR FORCE IN THE SEMIFINALS AND TONIGHT HE PUT ON A SHOW HERE SCORING 1 OF HIS 2 ON THE NIGHT. POWELL HAD 2 GOALS AND 2 ASSISTS AS RIT WINS THE ATLANTIC HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP 7-4 OVER ROBERT MORRIS. BACK TO BACK ATLANTIC HOCKEY CHAMPIONS. HOW DOES IT SOUND? KUQALI: WE’VE BEEN SAYING IT FOR A WHILE NOW. SINCE THE END OF LAST YEAR IT’S BEEN OUR GOAL AND WE CAME THROUGH AND I JUST COULDN’T BE MORE PROUD OF THE GUYS RIGHT NOW. THIS IS SUCH A RESILIENT GROUP I’M JUST IN LOVE WITH THEM. I’M SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. ROTOLO: IT’S UNBELIEVABLE. IT’S THE BEST FEELING . IT’S WHY WE PLAY THE GAME. WHOEVER WANTS TO WIN THE REGULAR SEASON, THEY CAN WIN IT. OUR GOAL IS TO WIN THIS TOURNAMENT AND WIN THAT TITLE AND TO BE ABLE TO KEEP THE TITLE, THERE’S NOTHING BETTER.
