It may be 4:20 today but I’m high for a different reason, I just kept hitting that Sens line as it climbed to Cheech and Chong levels last night and it paid off, big time. If you took a page out of Glen Gulutzan’s book and pulled me and my picks after one bad day on Tuesday. Sorry about that, but you missed out on a huge day. Don’t worry though, be happy, because unlike the Flames I haven’t burnt out and I’m back today with my preview and picks for Thursday night. Two series are down to the roach clips coming into this evening’s slate and one of them I expect to end. The Penguins opened as a -205 moneyline favorite here and you’d have to be higher than Seth Rogen at a Cypress Hill concert to bet that line on its own. Although I love the Pens to win, that lack of value makes me want to green out. The PPG center however saw its fair share of overs this season with Pittsburgh averaging more than 36 shots and 3.80 goals per game there. Combine those trends with the one that’s seen the Blue Jackets give up at least three goals in every single one of their franchise’s 14 playoff games and I’ll be parlaying that Pens moneyline with an over 5.5 to net a value of around +155. Pens harsh the Jackets buzz tonight. Second on the docket is the Rangers and Canadians and although it won’t be legal until next year in canada I think the Habs roll the Blueshirts up tonight and smoke them at the Bell Centre to take a 3-2 lead in this series. Max Pacioretty has yet to have a signature moment in the playoffs as a Canadien and I think he breaks out tonight after accumulating just one point in Montreal’s first four games. Carey Price is nearly unbeatable at home so I’ll be taking the Habs to win in regulation at a price of +105. Another series that’s on its last hit has the Preds trying to close out a Blackhawks team that’s looked dazed and confused and if I’m being honest this series has f****d me up fam. I have no idea what ‘Hawks team will show up tonight and because of that I’m fading this game but sincerely hoping that the ‘Hawks get faded right out of the postseason on Thursday. Our final game this evening takes us back to Edmonton after San Jose hosted the biggest oil spill of 2017 in Game Four. The Oilers will look to tip the scale back in their favor tonight and bookmakers open them as -130 faves after a first three games that resembled something close to “Double MMA”, contest number four opened up in a big way and I expect that to continue in this one with the Sharks offense blazing up. Take the over five. That’s it for this 4:20 edition of the NHL preview but don’t forget to check out OddsShark Live at 2:30 p.m. Eastern for some more tips to help get that bankroll higher than Willie Nelson on the road again. I’ll see you guys tomorrow for the Friday preview and for you philosophy aficionados out there, I’ll leave you with a quote from the late great Bob Marley, though the road’s been rocky it’s sure been good to me. Peace.
