Hey it’s Noah, your host of ‘Home Game
Heroes.’ The Men’s soccer team won its fourth consecutive game Wednesday afternoon, a hard-fought two-to-one victory over Carl Sandburg. The Chargers struck first at the 11 minute mark with a goal coming from a penalty kick. After
that the Bulldogs took control with defensive pressure which led to
offensive attacks. A couple of missed opportunities in transition for SSC right before half-time kept the game at 1-0. The Bulldogs quickly broke open the pace of the game in the second half, they took
advantage of a corner kick attempt as Robert Coria netted a sweet header at
the 53 minute mark tying the game at one. The team celebrated six minutes later on
a cross pass from Nico Williams leading to a goal by Edgar Vargas. That 2-1 score held up as Coach Gonzalez’s squad played ball control the rest of the way. Scoring the first goal of the game for SSC, Roberto Coria is our home game hero. The Men’s next home game is Saturday September 21st, vs the Oakton Owls
at 2:30 p.m. For ‘Home Game Heros’ I am Noah Nowicki and we will see you next time!!
