Hi, I’m Chris Murray, and I’m going to demonstrate
to you on how to do a rivelino. In soccer there’s many different moves where you step
in and – over the ball and around the ball. A rivelino is a prime example of that. This
move is done when the ball can be moving forward or standing still. It can be used as an attacking
move or a turning move. A rivelino is done when you’re dribbling forward and you step
around the ball from the outside. Your foot steps from the outside to the inside, around
the ball, and then you take it with the same foot that you stepped around the ball with.
This allows for you to get your defending player off balance, because it also looks
like you’re going to pass the ball. By showing from the outside to the inside, makes your
defender think that you’re going to pass the ball when really you’re only stepping over
it. So again, when you step over the ball, you step over, and then you take the ball
again with the outside of the same foot that stepped around the ball. And that’s how you
do a rivelino.
