UVM Hockey Scores Late In Losds

August 18, 2019

KEN: IT HASN’T BEEN THE BEST OF GOING FOR THE VERMONT MEN’S HOCKEY TEAM AS OF LATE, WHO WOULD ENTER PLAY AGAINST THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT WITH THREE STRAIGHT LOSSES. BUT MAYBE THE BATTLE WITH THE HUSKIES WAS JUST WHAT THE CATS WOULD NEED, AS UCONN HADN’T WON A GAME, IN THEIR LAST SIX. THE TWO TEAMS SPLIT A TWO-GAME SERIES JUST A FEW WEEKS AGO DOWN IN CONNECTICUT. MY NAMESAKE WAS HERE IN BURLINGTON. RIGHT JERSEY NUMBER, WRONG TEAM. 1ST PERIOD WAS IN FAVOR TO DRAKE’S HUSKIES. JESSE SCHWARTZ PUTS IT ON NET. STEFFANOS LEKKAS APPEARS TO HAVE MADE THE SAVE, BUT THE REFS WOULD CONFER. THEY SAY IT WENT IN. 1-0 UCONN. 4 MINUTESS LATER, THE PASS GOES FROM BEHIND THE NET, ACROSS THE CREASE, AND IN. CONNECTICUT GOES IN FRONT, 2-0. THE CATAMOUNTS, HOPING TO GET ON THE SCOREBOARD. BRIAN BOWEN BREAKS IN, BUT IS DENIED. IT STAYS 2-0. UCONN WOULD SCORE AGAIN, AND GO UP 3-0 AFTER 20 MINUTES. IN THE SECOND, A SIMILAR BREAK AWAY. PERIOD, ALEX ESPOSITO ON THE END THIRD OF THE TIC TAC TOE PASSING, HE HAS NOW SCORED THE TEAM’S LAST TWO GOALS GOING BACK TO SATURDAY. UVM ON THE SCOREBOARD THEY 3-1. CARRIED PLAY MOST OF THE THIRD , BUT NOT WHERE IT MATTERED.
